USIU-A is a Kenyan Private University located on Thika road, just a few kilometers from the Nairobi Central Business District. It is one of the USIU global campuses in the world, with a majority of them being located in the United States. The vice Chancellor of the University is Prof. Freida Brown.
USIU students are mainly drawn from Kenya, although it has some students drawn from Africa and elsewhere in the world. Being a private University, the fees are definitely high although the quality of the education largely justifies the fees charged. The university is mainly attended by the children of the middle class to the rich in the country. The University however offers a few scholarships to bright talented but needy students. The scholarships are both academic as well as sports and extracurricular scholarships. The University uses the American system of academic grading and tutoring. As such, the academic grades/results are reflected as Grade Point Average (GPA). The academic session is divided in quarters.
USIU courses
USIU offers a variety of courses, but the most popular courses are in the business/IT/Social sciences spheres. It has the bachelor, masters and PhD degree programs. The USIU mba is one of its most famous graduate courses. It has produced some brilliant alumni such as Mr. Vimal Shah, the Bidco CEO.
